Abstract
Presents a series of lessons designed to help first grade students become aware of visual and number patterns in city environments. Also discusses the developmental appropriateness of the study for six and seven-year-old children. Also notes how the lessons fit in with the principles espoused in the NCTM standards. Includes photographs and samples of children's work.
