Abstract
This curriculum actively engages children in reducing, reusing, recycling and composting. Children are an integral part of in the decision making and promulgation of recycling in the classroom as well as throughout the school. There are numerous opportunities for children to become empowered and activist within the school and community. This curriculum uses experiential education through the use of trips and recreation of these trips. This curriculum is developed over an eight week period as part of a larger study of the neighborhood.
