Abstract
Lena and Gus: Gleaning facts from fiction in a story of self-awareness, an independent study by Christina Unhoch Mason, demonstrates how academic and experiential learning has informed and expanded a story idea first conceived of over a decade ago about a seal and a fish that live in Lake Baikal.
