First person account of a new teacher who came through the New York City Teaching Fellows Program only to resign from teaching 8 weeks into the school year.

Author Biography

Allen Ellenzweig is the author of The Homoerotic Photograph: Male Images from Durieu/Delacroix to Mapplethorpe (NY: Columbia University Press, 1992) and has been writing fiction for the last decade. He has published as an art and photography critic, cultural journalist, and commentator in such periodicals as Art in America, The Village Voice, and Response: A Contemporary Jewish Review. Currently, he is a contributing writer to The Gay & Lesbian Review/Worldwide, where he publishes theater and book criticism. He also teaches expository writing at Rutgers University. He is President of the Board of the Robert Giard Foundation.
