Author Biography
John Snyder is currently Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Bank Street College. He has worked as a researcher and a teacher educator at the
University of California, Santa Barbara; Teachers College Columbia University;
the National Center for the Restructuring of Education, Schools, and Teaching;
and the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future. He remains engaged in researching teacher learning, conditions that support teacher learning, and the relationships between teacher and student learning. His current position allows him the opportunity to explore these issues with his colleagues in the context of an exemplary stand-alone professional school of education.
