Author Biography
Ariel Sacks graduated from Bank Street College’s Middle School General Education program in 2006, committed to implementing progressive pedagogy in
high-needs public schools. She taught English at Middle School 45 in East Harlem for three years through Bank Street’s Partnership for Quality. In her fourth year as a middle school educator, she teaches eighth-grade English and
serves as a team leader at the School For Democracy and Leadership in Brooklyn.
She is a member of the national Teacher Leaders Network and has published articles
about her work.
