Abstract

Having illustrated his essay in the style of a comic or graphic novel, Roselló captures the dynamics of his negotiations with young Milo, including his own self-doubt, through both language and image.

Author Biography

Jarod Roselló is a Cuban American teacher, cartoonist, and writer, born and raised in Miami, Florida. He is currently an ABD doctoral student, completing a graphic novel-as-dissertation in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Penn State University. His comics, fiction, and research have been published in various journals and magazines. He also writes a monthly column on the craft of comics for PANK Magazine and runs Bien Vestido Press out of his living room. You can read more of his work online at www.jarodrosello.com
